866. Old Chub
Jadyn and I had dinner at Bukowski's in Boston sometime in late August. Theyy had Old Chub on tap so I bit.
Beer Stats:
Brewery: Oskar Blues Grill & Brewery
Alcohol: 8.00%
Serving: Tap
Style: Scottish Ale, BJCP Style Guide
Appearance: 4.0 | Smell: 4.0 | Taste: 4.0 | Mouthfeel: 4.0 | Drinkability: 4.0
Overall: 4.0
Pours a hazed brown. Topped by a fluffy, beige head that fades to a film. The aroma is toasted malts, caramel, chocolate, fruit, and a hint of smoke.
A toastiness upfront quickly moves into a nice caramel sweetness. The caramel yields to some light fruitiness in the center. The finish has notes of chocolate, smoke, spicy alcohol and a light bitterness. Medium-bodied, highly carbonated and thick.
Strong and flavorful, but balanced.
