394. Samuel Adams Triple Bock
I purchased this at a Kappy's in Malden. It came in a small blue glass bottle. I served it in one of my New Belgium glasses.
Beer Stats:
Brewery: Boston Beer Company
Alcohol: 17.50%
Serving: 8.45 oz bottle
Style: American Strong Ale, BJCP Style Guide
Appearance (3.0): Pours an opaque black with brown tinges at the edges. No head whatsoever. Clings to the glass when swirled.
Smell (3.0): The alcohol is very evident, a sweet syrupy smell and raisins are the only other aromas I pick out.
Taste (1.5): The flavor profile is dominated by raisins and syrup, with warming alcohol in the finish. It's like drinking raisin syrup.
Mouthfeel (1.5): Thick and syrupy. No evident carbonation.
Drinkability (1.0): Very difficult to drink.
Overall (2.05): One dimensional, and cloyingly sweet.
