393. Harpoon Kellerbier (100 Barrel Series #13)
I purchased this one at Kappy's, a liquor store in Malden that looks like it's housed in an old used car dealership. I let this one warm and served it in my NERAX pint glass.
Beer Stats:
Brewery: Harpoon Brewery
Alcohol: 5.20 %
Serving: 22 oz. bottle
Style: Keller Bier
Appearance (4.5): Pours a hazy amber with a creamy off-white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Smell (3.5): Aromas of yeast, sweet fruitiness, citrus and hops.
Taste (4.0): Lightly sweet and toasty malts, citric tartness, and a pronounced hoppy bitterness in the finish.
Mouthfeel (3.5): Tingly-carbonation, smooth and medium-bodied.
Drinkability (4.0): Nicely balanced and tatsy.
Overall (3.95): I liked the assertive bitterness in this beer. The sweetness from the malts doesn't overpower and mask the hops.
The lace left on the glass looked sort of like a tree:
