Pours a slightly hazed, brownish -amber with a beige head that thins to a film. The aroma is pleasantly malty with notes of dark fruit, sharp spice and a hint of coffee and possibly chocolate.

Despite the maltiness this beer isn't too sweet. There are caramel and dark fruit notes on top of a toasty base. It moves through to a bit of alcoholic spiciness, which when combined with the maltiness gives it a boozy quality. The finish is woody with a light roasty bitterness that lingers in the aftertaste. Soft and smooth on the palate, medium-bodied and moderately carbonated.

Not too heavy and well balanced. A great session beer.
